1. General Provisions

These terms of service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the CompanyBook.BG website ("Site"), provided by "Corporate Business Technologies Ltd.", UIC: 207473602, with registered office at: Sofia 1113, Izgrev District, 8 Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd., bl. 4, ent. A, fl. 1, apt. 2 ("Company", "we" or "our").

By accessing and using the Site, you ("User", "you" or "your") agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Site.

2. Service Description

TheCompanyBook is a free online platform that provides access to public information about legal entities and individuals registered in the Commercial Register of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Services include, but are not limited to:

• Search and view data on registered legal entities
• Access to contact information (where declared by companies themselves)
• Management, ownership and organizational structure information
• HTTP API for programmatic access to data
• Daily information updates
• User accounts for access to additional features
• Download financial reports and documents (for registered users)
• Personal API keys (for registered users)

Core services are provided free of charge to end users. Some additional features, such as access to detailed financial data (balance sheets, income statements, financial ratios), are available through paid subscription.

2.1. User Accounts

2.1.1. Account Creation

Access to some Site features may require you to create a user account. During registration you must provide:

• Valid email address
• Your name
• Secure password (minimum 8 characters, containing at least one uppercase letter and special character)
• Acceptance of these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

You may optionally provide additional information such as phone number and company UIC.

2.1.2. User Responsibilities

When creating and using a user account, you agree to:

• Provide true, accurate and complete information
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with third parties
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized access to your account
• Take responsibility for all actions performed through your account
• Update your account information when necessary
• Not create multiple accounts or use automated means to create accounts
• Not share your account with others

2.1.3. Email Verification

To fully activate your account, you must verify your email address via the link sent to the specified email. The verification link is valid for 48 hours.

2.1.4. Account Suspension and Deletion

We reserve the right to suspend or delete your account in case of:

• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Providing false information during registration
• Service abuse or unauthorized access attempts
• Using the account for illegal purposes
• Extended inactivity (over 2 years)

You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us. Upon account deletion, all your personal data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy.

2.1.5. API Keys

Upon account creation, a personal API key is automatically generated for accessing our REST API. You agree to:

• Keep your API key confidential and not share it publicly
• Not use the API key for purposes that violate these Terms
• Rotate your API key if you suspect it has been compromised
• Take responsibility for all actions performed with your API key

2.1.6. Account Sharing Prohibition

User accounts on TheCompanyBook are personal and non-transferable. Each account is licensed exclusively for use by a single individual.

The following is expressly prohibited:

• Sharing your login credentials (email and password) with others
• Allowing others to access your account
• Using shared or group accounts
• Creating accounts on behalf of others without proper authorization
• Sharing or transferring your personal API key

Consequences of violation:

• Immediate suspension or termination of the account without warning
• Loss of access to all services, including paid features
• No refunds for prepaid subscription periods
• Potential legal action for commercial abuse

For organizations: If your organization requires multiple user accounts, please contact us for appropriate corporate licensing. Each employee or team member must have their own individual account.

2.2. Paid Subscriptions

2.2.1. Service Description

TheCompanyBook offers paid subscriptions for access to additional features, including detailed company financial data. Financial data includes balance sheets, income statements, and calculated financial metrics for the period 2022-2025.

2.2.2. Payment and Billing

Payments are processed by Stripe, a certified payment service provider. When subscribing, the following data is collected:

• Email address and name
• Billing address
• Tax ID (UIC/VAT number) for invoicing purposes

Important: We do not store credit or debit card data. All payment data is processed directly by Stripe in accordance with their security standards (PCI-DSS).

Current prices are available on the subscription page before completing your purchase.

2.2.3. Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will be notified in advance of any price changes before the next renewal.

2.2.4. Subscription Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the billing management portal. Upon cancellation:

• Access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period
• No additional charges will be made after cancellation
• No refunds are provided for any unused portion of the subscription period

2.2.5. Failed Payments

If a payment fails, your subscription will be marked as "past due" and access to paid features may be restricted until payment is resolved. You can update your payment method through the billing management portal.

2.2.6. Billing Management Portal

Through the billing management portal (provided by Stripe) you can:

• View and download invoices
• Update your payment method
• Cancel your subscription
• View payment history

3. Data Origin and Licensing

All data published on the Site originates from daily publications of the Registry Agency, available through the open data platform of the Ministry of E-Government of the Republic of Bulgaria (data.egov.bg).

The data is published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license, which allows free use, distribution and adaptation, including for commercial purposes, provided the source is credited.

Attribution: All data is property of the Registry Agency under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Bulgaria. TheCompanyBook processes and provides this data in a convenient format, but does not own copyright to the primary information.

3.1. Financial Data

TheCompanyBook provides access to company financial data extracted from annual financial reports published in the Commercial Register. This data includes:

• Balance sheets (assets, liabilities, equity)
• Income statements (revenue, expenses, profit/loss)
• Calculated financial ratios (liquidity, profitability, leverage)

3.1.1. Origin and Processing

Financial documents originate from the Registry Agency and are processed using automated Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology. Data covers the period 2022-2025 and includes over 200 financial metrics for each company.

3.1.2. Accuracy Limitations

Users MUST verify all data from official sources (portal.registryagency.bg) before relying on it. Official Registry Agency documents are the only legally valid source.

3.2. Syndic and Insolvency Data

TheCompanyBook provides access to data on syndics and insolvency proceedings, including:

• Syndic registry (names, contact information, specialty)
• Insolvency announcements
• Court case information
• Debtor information
• Property sale announcements

3.2.1. Data Origin

Syndic and insolvency data originates from the Automated Information System for Tracking Notices (AISTN) of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Bulgaria, available at aistn.mjs.bg.

3.2.2. Limitations and Disclaimer

Users MUST verify all data from the official Ministry of Justice portal (aistn.mjs.bg) before relying on it for legal or business purposes.

3.3. NKID Classification Data

TheCompanyBook provides access to the National Classification of Economic Activities (NKID-2025), which represents a classification scheme of economic activities in Bulgaria harmonized with NACE Rev. 2.

3.3.1. Data Origin

The NKID-2025 data originates from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) of the Republic of Bulgaria, published at nsi.bg. TheCompanyBook provides this data in a convenient format for searching and browsing.

3.3.2. Disclaimer

While we strive for accuracy, the NKID-2025 data is provided "AS IS" and without warranty of completeness or timeliness. For official reference, always consult the official NSI publication.

4. User Rights and Obligations

4.1. Permitted Use

You have the right to:

• Search and view data on legal entities and individuals
• Use data for personal or commercial purposes
• Share links to Site pages
• Use our API in accordance with documentation
• Distribute data in compliance with CC BY 4.0 license with source attribution

4.2. Prohibited Use

You are prohibited from:

• Using the Site for illegal purposes or in violation of applicable law
• Performing automated data collection (scraping) outside the provided API
• Overloading or disrupting the Site infrastructure
• Bypassing established technical restrictions and security measures
• Using data in a manner that violates third party rights
• Providing false information or impersonating another person or organization
• Distributing malware or conducting cyberattacks against the Site

4.3. Reporting Privacy Violations

Users may report privacy violations through our report form. When submitting a report:

• Providing false, malicious, or misleading information is prohibited
• The Company reserves the right to review and act on reports at its discretion
• Abuse of the reporting system may result in termination of Site access
• All reports are processed confidentially in accordance with our Privacy Policy

4.4. Commercial Use of Data

Paid subscribers are entitled to use data from TheCompanyBook in their commercial products and services under the following conditions:

Permitted Use:

• Integrating data into proprietary commercial products and applications
• Using data in software solutions and services
• Creating value-added products, analyses, and reports
• Sharing data as part of larger products or services
• No attribution required

Prohibited Use:

• Prohibited: Creating a competing company or person search service
• Prohibited: Offering similar company database lookup services
• Prohibited: Building products that are substantially similar to CompanyBook.bg

If in doubt about permitted use, please contact us for clarification before using the data.

5. API Terms of Use

TheCompanyBook API services are provided free of charge subject to the following conditions:

• Documentation: Use must comply with published API documentation
• Fair Use: API abuse or attempts to bypass established limits are prohibited

We reserve the right to change limits, suspend access for abuse, or modify API terms of use without notice. For bulk data download or higher limits, please contact us.

6. Intellectual Property

The design, code, structure, interface and all original elements of the Site (excluding Commercial Register data) are property of "Corporate Business Technologies Ltd." and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws of the Republic of Bulgaria and applicable international conventions.

The "TheCompanyBook" trademark and associated logos and visual elements are property of the Company.

Copying, reproduction, modification or distribution of the Site's design, code or trademarks without express written permission from the Company is prohibited.

7. Disclaimers and Warranties

7.1. Data Accuracy

All data on the Site is provided "as is" and originates from official public sources. While we make maximum efforts for accuracy and currency, we do not guarantee completeness, accuracy or currency of provided information. For the most current and legally valid information, please refer to the official Registry Agency portal (portal.registryagency.bg).

7.2. Service Availability

We do not guarantee continuous, error-free or secure operation of the Site. Access may be temporarily suspended due to technical reasons, maintenance or other circumstances beyond our control. We are not responsible for consequences of Site unavailability.

7.3. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, "ООД" and its employees, directors and representatives are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from or related to use or inability to use the Site, including but not limited to loss of profits, data or other intangible loss.

We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on this page. The last update date is reflected at the beginning of the document.

Your continued use of the Site after publication of changes is considered acceptance of the new Terms. We recommend periodically reviewing this page for updates.

9. Termination of Access

We reserve the right to limit, suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, without notice and without owing compensation, in case of violation of these Terms or upon reasonable suspicion of abuse or illegal activity.

10. Personal Data Protection

Processing of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is an integral part of the legal relationship between us. Please review it carefully.

11. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria.

All disputes arising from or related to these Terms or use of the Site are subject to resolution by competent Bulgarian courts in accordance with applicable procedural rules.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to have full force and effect.
